Well, what can I say? I take it all back! New Zealand are ALL OUT! Can you believe it? All out for 114. What an amazing afternoon’s cricket! Pannesar managed 6 wickets – and to think that not much over two years ago there was debate over whether he should be playing for England at all. I think he’s proved his worth now!
So, England need 294 runs to win and they have two and a bit days to do it! It sounds easier than it is, I think. Apparently, the highest fourth innings total ever to win a Test Match at Old Trafford was two-hundred and forty-something, so England will need to break records to win. Also, if New Zealand were out so cheaply, there’s a good chance England will do even worse and, in any event, according to the weather forecast, there’s unlikely to be any play on Tuesday.
But, one lives in hope !
Now, I wonder how Hull KR are getting on . . . . . .
