I was innocently lying in the hall chewing on my bone as Hilary ate her tea tonight. Then there was a loud beep beeping noise coming from above my head! I wasn’t sure what was happening, but it turned out Hilary had made some toast to have with her soup and it had set off the smoke alarm!
She took me into the kitchen and shut the door and it soon stopped. Hilary explained what had happened and I could smell the burnt toast, and even tried to eat some.
I suggested it might be easier if she just ate ready prepared biscuits in future and offered her some of mine but she turned me down. Humans are so odd.
