Last night I decided to chase the cat upstairs and while I was doing that my humans decided to settle down and watch TV. They warmed themselves by the coal fire, and got comfy on my sofa and an armchair, and put on Coronation Street.

After I had finished my chasing I wanted to come back in the warm and catch up with Corrie with them. But the door was firmly shut. (they later said it was to keep the heat in and prevent drafts but I have my doubts- think they were deliberately keeping me out!)

So, honestly what is a dog to do? I couldn’t get to my sofa or my humans so I had to go off and explore the house instead. Luckily Tim had left his study door open so I went in for a good root around, but it was actually fairly boring in there as he had recently tidied up! however I did find an interesting looking novel, which he is in the middle of reading, so decided to have a look at it myself. (I am keen to be a well educated dog). However it was actually rather boring in the end so instead of reading the novel I started to chew it, and tasty it was too!

Eventually I heard my caring female human saying that we had better let Max into the warm, and my humans opened the door to discover me in the hall surrounded by chewed up novel pages!

Tim was a little bit annoyed with me as he wanted to know what happened next!!!! And I am not going to tell him!
