My Christmas pressies!

1 01 2008 - 11:44

Now that I have recovered from my leg injury and can blog again (it is so hard using a computer keyboard with a sore leg and paw) I must tell you all about my Christmas pressies. As I said in an earlier blog, there were lots of exciting gifts under the tree for me and Monty- and a few from us too for our humans and each other, as we are very caring thoughful animals. This is me investigating the presents under the tree. Monty was a lot less careful – he clambered all over them!

On Christmas day after church, my walk, and Christmas dinner, the humans finally sat down to open the gifts. I was delighted to find lots of interesting things including a new dog-fork for serving my food out from Brian and Dora, several chews and biscuity things, including treats from my friend Mary from church who I see on my walks sometimes, and also, from young Monty, I got a book written especially for dogs. Monty told me it was to inspire me with my blogs! Strangely my humans got a copy of the same book too from Brian and Dora- maybe it is supposed to inspire Tim’s (non existent) blogs too! I am looking forward to reading my book when all the festivities have died down. It is really funny and quite rude in places (about canine business transactions) as Brian discovered when he read a bit out!!

My main gift was big and very exciting to open. It was from Tim and Hilary although Tim did look rather bemused at it. It is a special feeding dish for me so I don’t have to bend down and eat off the floor any more! Excellent! No more bowls sliding around the slippery floor, and hopefully no more Monty stealing my food! The stand was “easy assemble” so it only took three of the humans a couple of hours to do, and then it was ready. This is me supervising them.

The present came in really useful on Boxing Day when I was injured and forced to lie quietly on the sofa all evening. The humans kindly brought in my water and food in the stand so I could eat and drink in comfort!

Anyway that is Christmas over with and it is nearly new year. I hope you all have fun and wish all my friends and family a happy and healthy 2008!
