I read rather a disturbing tale in the newspaper at the weekend. Two German Shepherd Dogs were shot dead by a Lincolnshire farmer last week when they were distressing and savaging his sheep, many of which were pregnant ewes.

I had been warned of the dangers of chasing sheep – indeed I remember Clare commenting that it was not a sensible thing to do, but this story really brought home to me that I must only terrorise them from afar and when there is no farmer around! Hilary and Tim are also going to be extra careful that I don’t escape when there are sheep in the field behind the house, as that could just be too tempting…

Poor dogs. And poor sheep too, I suppose.
