Pedigree's campaign

8 01 2008 - 19:23

Hilary got an interesting email yesterday, from Pedigree (the makers of fine food) It was about a campaign to raise money for dog rescue centres, and to raise awareness of the dogs needing new homes through no fault of their own. You can sign up for regular email updates so I asked Hilary to do this as I like reading stories about other dogs, although some of them are sad.

I had a good look for one about a german shepherd, the best dog breed, and there was a GSD on the meet the dogs page called Woolfie! That is quite funny as I have sometimes been nicknamed Woolfie too! Woolfie is six years old, black and tan, and had to be rehomed when his first human moved to a much smaller flat and there wasn’t room for him. He has now got a new home where he enjoys poached eggs on toast (that sounds yummy!)

I felt very sad at reading about the dogs waiting to get new humans and I hope that any humans who are thinking about getting a dog (oops I typed god there!!) will consider adopting one. I am very lucky that I found my humans as a little puppy and have been able to be with them ever since, but not all dogs are so lucky and many end up in rescue centres when their humans’ circumstances change. the slogan for the campaign is “Because every dog deserves a loving home”. Too true!

The campaign called PEDIGREE ADOPTION DRIVE has raised £26 271 so far.
