My other good deed!

15 01 2008 - 06:19

I was so busy yesterday telling you about finding the lost dog and helping him get home again that I forgot to tell you about another good deed I did!

It was Saturday afternoon when Hilary and I went to the field for my second walk of the day. To get there we walk up the street and round the corner and up past a little cottage. I often see the two humans who live there, in their garden or out for a walk. They make a fuss of me and I rather like them.

As we walked towards their house I noticed that their car, in the front garden, was lit up. It had it’s lights on – but there was no sign of the humans. I thought this was rather odd as cars usually settle down to sleep when the humans leave them alone. I told Hilary about it and she thought the humans may have left the car lights on by mistake just as she used to do with her old car, who didn’t squeal at her if she did like her car does now.

Anyway we weren’t sure if they were meant to be on as perhaps the humans were loading or unloading things, or just about to come out the house. So we walked round the field (where I had incredibly good fun chatting up two stunning female labradors over a wall) and came back.

The car was still lit up so I dragged Hilary to the door and we rung the bell to tell the humans about it! They were very happy to see me and be told about their mistake, as indeed it was. They said if the car had been left like that it might have used up all it’s energy and be too tired to move tomorrow!

What a good dog I am. I saved a car on Saturday, a lost dog on Sunday – what will happen today when Tim takes me for my walks?
