On Wednesday evening as usual our shopping was delivered from Tesco – I find it very exciting and it is my job to tell the humans that the van is outside. I do that really well with my “alert” bark! They then meanly shut me in the living room as the shopping comes in, but I can stand at the window and watch the goods being unloaded from the van, and then supervise as they are put away afterwards. Sometimes I get rewarded with some yummy corned beef!

Anyway , I noticed this week there was non of my usual Pal dog food! I was a bit concerned as the same thing had happened last week- Hilary had ordered it then and it was “unavailable” with our delivery. Strangely, Tesco had also run out of the cat food she had ordered for Monty, but had substituted this with a similar pack, by the same manufacturer (Whiskas). Indeed not just one pack, but THREE! So young Monty got three times as much food as he needed and I had none. Hilary did joke to the driver that she would feed me cat food, but luckily Tim went and bought me a supply of my proper stuff!

Anyway as I was saying there was no Pal this week either- and Hilary told me she couldn’t even order it on the website as it just said it was unavailable. That is really dissappointing. It doesn’t even appear in the “search” facility any more and Hilary is worried that they may be stopping stocking it- just as they have with tahina paste and twining darjeeling tea bags! Anyway if we can’t get any this week I am going to write to Tesco and complain!

Luckily Hilary managed to get me some today from a different shop and I am relieved there is a supply here for me! It would be rather degrading to be fed whiskas!
