My humans seem to be planning lots of holidays this year which is bad news for me. For some inexplicable reason they like to go away without me and Monty, and so have to make arrangements for us in their absence. These so called arrangements are usually sending us to prison, though last year when they were only away one night in September I went to stay with my friend Bethan and her human, and Monty was trusted to be home alone!

Anyway the humans are planning holidays now and are all excited as they have been invited to a Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration in America in August! I thought they wouldn’t go as it is just after their holiday in Malta in July, but they seem keen, if Hilary can manage to find some annual leave whatever that is. I suspect it comes from Tesco as she gets lots of things from there. (Except my Pal dog food of course which now needs a special trip to another shop!)

Anyway I digress, the humans are also going to visit Hilary’s brother and sister in law in Ipswich in April, which is fairly soon I think. That is rather a lot of trips away.

Anyway last night they were talking about the arrangements and the need to book the prison. They did say it was a real shame and unfair on me (and Monty too I suppose) that there weren’t other humans who could look after us. I know my extra humans, Bryony and Laura would if they could, but they lead busy student and working lives and can’t be relied upon to be free then. But then I suggested my friend Clare, who is, after all, a dog lover currently without her own canine friend! She also is a teacher so gets lots of holidays!

Hilary texted Clare and as luck would have it for the July holiday Clare is free and said she would love to come and spend time with me! Wow! My own holiday human! This is tremendously exciting as it means I can bond with Clare properly- not just via my blogs – and I can be full of mischief or as good as gold! I am plotting already! Thank you Clare for offering to save me from incarceration. I promise you lots of muddy walks, licks and very little peace!!!
