Hilary was in Glasgow for work today, and travelled by train. She was surprised that on both her journeys she saw Guide Dogs with their humans! And both dogs were stunningly handsome black and tan German Shepherd Dogs! (though she was quick to reassure me that neither dog was as handsome as me)

She told me how well behaved the dogs were , excellent at behaving and showing their humans where to go etc, and both were completely calm with the trains and all the people around them. I had never really thought about guide dogs before, and how clever and patient they must be.

Hmm, maybe it is just as well I am not a guide dog. I could do it if I chose to, of course, but it is MUCH more fun running around, pulling on leads, sniffing and investigating everything and generally misbehaving! These guide dogs have to WORK! And I thought that was just for humans!
