More animal thoughts....

Clare is absolutely right in her comment on my last email. Cars are excellent to chase! However my humans discourage this (humans are so boring sometimes) telling me it is dangerous! Anyway I still like chasing cars, and one of my favourites is a safe chasing game when I run in the field- the other side of the wall to the cars- and try and outpace them! My humans seem happy with this as long as the field gates are closed! Cars are smelly and noisy too, a bit like animals, they are just very tempting.

However I will try and blog about animals which is what I am focussing on. I think deer are excellent to chase. We see a lot of deer in the woods nearby and I love to chase them away! They are very fast runners so always get away from me. My female human thinks the deer and very elegant and graceful and she really likes seeing them. They blend very well into the woods except for their bright white tails! My humans often spot the deer before me as I usually see them by smelling their tracks! Deer can jump over quite high fences and ditches. I think they are quite clever (but not as clever as German Shepherd dogs obviously)- how many deer blogs have you seen?

However I think my favourite wild animal to chase must be…. rabbits! They are tremendous fun! There are millions of them around, including a plentiful supply in our garden, so I have lots of opportunity. Unlike birds, rabbit can’t fly. Nor can they jump like the deer can! And humans don’t seem to mind me chasing rabbits (though they don’t seem very pleased on the rare occasions that I manage to actually catch one). Rabbits have silly white tails too and they do this silly thing of staying still when they see me, in the hope I don’t spot them. Sometimes of lawn is full of bunny statues! One lurch from me and they scarper! i chased lots of rabbits in the field tonight but they all escaped into their burrows underground! I wanted to wait till they came out again but it was time to come home. Ah well, there’s always another day.
