My humans asked me to be extra good today – because the Bishop was coming to church, and then to lunch afterwards. That explains why my humans did a lot of cleaning yesterday and why Tim was in such a good mood- he didn’t have a sermon to write! This morning he was up early cooking too and it all smelt delicious!

Anyway after church they all came up to the house and I greeted them enthusiastically. I got a nice pat from Jill, Bishop John’s wife. I think they were a bit daunted by me actually – maybe stunned by my good looks? They seemed to be cat people rather than dog lovers- Monty was quite a hit when he came in and purred around them.

Sadly and most unfairly I was banished from the dining room when they ate, and was cooped up in the living room. I took care to shed extra hairs on the sofa and had a good sniff at Jill’s handbag which was left there! Later on I managed to lick some of the plates as they were in the dishwasher and can confirm Tim’s casserole was indeed yummy.

Tim tells me that we will soon have a new Bishop. Not that there any any changes in the Bishops themselves, but when we move to Dunfermline that is in a different Diocese (whatever that means, it sounds a bit like an illness to me) so we will have another Bishop. The new Bishop (Bishop David) has a blog (there are links at the side of this one to it) but sadly he too seems to be a cat lover as he has a cat called Poppy who stars on his blog occassionally.

Ah well, maybe I can develop a mission to convert all the Bishops to become dog lovers in due course!
