A May Monday outing!!

Wow! I am so tired I can hardly blog!
I have just been on an outing! I knew it was a Monday holiday as my female human was off work, and my male human decided to take a day off too. I thought I might get an extra walk if I were lucky, but little did I know I was going on an outing!
We set off in the car just after 1pm – me and both my humans. That is fairly unusual and I was a little worried I was going to the vet or- even worse- to prison! But, oh,no, I turned out we were off to St Andrews – where my extra human Laura is a student!
When we got there we parked and headed into town to meet Laura, was was having a picnic with some friends. It was really exciting as we walked along some grass beside something called the sea. There were lots of dogs playing and lots of humans around enjoying the sunshine. When we reached Laura I was very hot and enjoyed a refreshing drink of some water served in a watermelon! (well, they didn’t have water bowls with them on the picnic and the water melon was eaten up) It was very tasty water too! I got petted by one of Laura’s friends who said she missed her big dogs!
Then I got another surprise because who should come along to meet us but my other extra human, Bryony! Yes- both my extra humans at once! We set off for a walk and it was incredibly busy everywhere with dogs and their people. Laura looked very stylish wearing her red student gown and carrying a big umbrella!
Hilary kept telling me I had to see the sea- but I didn’t really know what she meant. We went down some steps to a funny place which is called Castle Sands. There was a funny salty smell everywhere and lots of other interesting things to smell and investigate. It was too busy for me to be allowed off my lead but I was glad to be near Tim as there was a strange blue thing moving towards us and making noises.
Tim took me closer to have a look but I was a bit wary. He kept telling me “it’s only water” but I know proper water is served in a drinking bowl (or a melon) so it wasn’t real water at all!
I had good fun though looking at it and watching Tim run back when it came too near him. I think he was a bit scared of it as well.
After a while we went back up the steps and walked a long way passed lots of people and cars. I was very well behaved and Hilary thought I was a bit overwhelmed by everything, but actually I was taking it all in! My humans got tired so stopped at a table and chairs outside a cafe in the middle of town. I got a bit concerned as , apart from Hilary who stayed with me, the others dissappeared inside! Eventually they returned with drinks for themselves and a sandwich for Tim, and a bottle of water for me! I already had water actually as the nice waitress had already come up to me and Hilary and given us some in a nice dog bowl, and also said I was very handsome! My humans sat and talked and I enjoyed sitting there too. There was so much to watch and take in!
After our refreshments we headed back to Laura’s house along a very busy road. I kept Tim on a short lead to make sure he was safe. We then went into the garden which was excellent as it is all enclosed so I could at last be let off my lead and allowed to explore! My humans had brought my tennis ball and I also found a slightly squashed football in the garden so I could play with them. Here I am relaxing on the lawn.
After then it was time to go home, taking Bryony back to Dundee on the way! What an exciting day out!
