Rabbits!

As I have said before our garden and the nearby fields are full of rabbits providing excellent opportunities to chase them! I have even managed to catch a few in my time! But young Monty cat- he really has the skills and is so patient, lying in wait and then pouncing on the unsuspecting bunny!
At the moment we seem to have lots of baby rabbits around, which are smaller, slower and stupider, so even easier for Monty to catch. He brought home a small rabbit for Hilary on her birthday last week, and another rabbit the other night too. The first one was still alive and was able to run away once my humans intervened, but the second one didn’t make it!
Last night I looked out the living room window to see Monty outside tormenting a little rabbit- sitting beside it waiting for it to move, then patting it and playing with it. The rabbit really didn’t have a chance. Hilary went outside and called Monty in but he ignored her- the rabbit ran away across the lawn and Monty was after it in a trice! Hilary then wisely shut the outer door so Monty could not bring a present home into the porch again!
Later on when Tim took me in the garden there were various bits of rabbit (deceased) around the garden , which I got hold of before he noticed- great fun!!!
I wonder what Dunfermline rabbits are like – if I were them I would be packing up my burrow and moving on before Monty killer cat arrives!
And incidently my humans have decided it may not be such a good idea to let Monty have the use of the cat flap that is in our new back door (in Dunfermline) they have visions of finding rabbits and other creatures (dead and alive) all over the house!!!
