I have just realised I have an arch enemy! When ever I see him I have to bark loudly to drown him out, and try to attack him! He is noisy, scary and smelly! Most of the time he lives in the cupboard under the stairs but every now again my humans let him out and take him for a walk round the house so he can eat up the dirt from the floor – and I go mad!

Yes, it is the hoover. Our Miele Cat and Dog Max which we got a while ago to cope with the hairs that us pets leave around so the house smells of us and to give humans something to clear up.

Amazingly the hoover is still working, though Hilary threw him down the stairs a few months ago and the top won’t shut right now, and the filter system doesn’t work right so there is rather a waft of dust, and then this weekend Hilary cleaned out the inside of her car and in doing so managed to snap a piece off the pipe!

Anyway my humans know I don’t really like the hoover so when he comes out I usually get shut in the kitchen, where I bark away until the noise stops. Sometimes I also claw the door down in an attempt to get out and get the hoover- especially when it is just in the hall outside!

However just sometimes they forget to shut me away first (or get complacent as to their own skills) and think they can do some hoovering while I am still around!

Tim tried this the other day – and Hilary quickly took these photos of me attacking the hoover – before I was banished to the kitchen so he could get on with the job!
