New balls!

15 05 2008 - 19:19

My humans are getting good at buying things for me. I think I have trained them well. Last weekend my female human went to a brilliant store where they sell all kinds of things for us animals. She had a list of what to get for me and Monty. They had everything she wanted for Monty (mainly boring stuff like wormer and anti-flea treatments) but for me she was thwarted at nearly every turn.

More Pal in gravy dog food- not stocked- just lots of other kinds I do not like!

My tasty worming tablets- no longer made! Discontinued by the manufacturer!

A tennis ball thrower thing (as recomended by Belle and Wanda) – out of stock! An empty space on the shelf!

new ballsStill, she was keen to buy me something and so chose a pack of brightly coloured balls! They are really nice – in red, green, blue and purple, and they have pawprints on! She thought they were a good idea as I keep losing tennis balls, and they can be hard to find in lots of grass and dirt! She nearly bought a pack of 3 for £2, then saw a huge pack with 12 balls in for £5, which was much better value, so that went in the trolley!

my red ballI have only played with one so far- a red one. It certainly shows up on the grass as you can see. Even my human can find it now. We have taken it for several walks and not lost it yet. Unfortunately despite being careful with it I have managed to break it- it is very flimsy and just two shells joined together, so there is a big hole in it now. It is not half as good as the real tennis balls Henry gave me. Luckily these are not all gone as Hilary had thought. There is one in the livingroom under the sofa. There is one in the porch Tim takes on my walks with him. There is one new one in the utility room in the original mesh bag! And, there is a sneaky extra one under the drawers on the landing which Hilary hasn’t noticed yet!

Incidently, do not worry that I starved without my PAL dog food. My kindly male human went to Asda which had a plentiful supply and brought me home 48 tins!
