I got outside on my own last night! Only for a few minutes but it was brilliant, and, for the first time in my life I wished I was a cat as for some reason cats are allowed out on their own whenever they want! What fun!

It all happened late evening (well, late for Hilary who was just heading to bed, but mid evening for Tim who had several hours to stay up yet). Monty cat was wanting to come in and Tim opened the door to let him in. Monty was a bit wary as I was in the hall, and dithered around in the porch not actually coming into the house. So Tim sensibly opened the door wider to encourage Monty to come inside- and I decided to take the opportunity and go outside into the garden on my own!

I had a run around the lawn, and then seized the chance to go down the drive to the church and ran around there. There were some freshly planted bedding plants beside the church path which looked great fun to dig up and destroy, but I didn’t really have time for that!

Sadly Tim made me come indoors as he was worried I might go onto the road and start chasing the traffic, and somehow he managed to get me inside again. I then went upstairs to tell Hilary all about my escape, and also enjoy a lie down on the bed with her. She seemed to enjoy me being there and said I could stay a bit longer but I wasn’t tired and wanted to watch more TV with Tim so I headed off downstairs again!

Maybe I can get out on my own again today!
