Last weekend I blogged about my escape from the Rectory garden on a sunny afternoon and – eventually – being captured in the garden of the hotel/pub/restaurant next door! Clare commented that it was a shame I didn’t sneak inside and cause havoc!

Well, the truth has now been revealled! I did indeed get inside!

And I thought my humans would never know… but last night, they went for a meal there with my extra human Bryony, and had a very nice time by all accounts, with a three course meal, wine and port…... (I was left at home with boring dog food to eat, and water to drink….typical)

Anyway as they were leaving Anne, the owner, told them that I had been visiting last weekend and had indeed got into the hotel kitchens! (delicious smells) I had been quite a star and enjoyed all the attention – even rolling over so some customers could rub my tummy! She had recognised me and said I responded to my name, and she did try to bring me back home again- and said I ran happily up our drive! (only of course to sneak away again and try to get back to the pub!)

My humans were a bit embarrassed but also mightly relieved I hadn’t actually caused too much havoc!

Sadly, they have told me I am not getting the run of the garden any more, which is rather shame. Still, maybe they will forget in a few weeks time….
