Induction Weekend: Part 2

15 06 2008 - 15:16

I’ve been very well behaved this weekend with Clare, and she now thinks that I’m the best dog ever! I think she knew this before she came but I wanted to ensure that she would return for my holidays.

We went for a walk by ourselves this morning, a very long walk indeed. I walked on my lead for about a mile and a half before getting to run around freely. It was very exciting. We went along a busy road and there were lots of interesting smells. We met a couple of people that I know, I managed to refrain from chasing cars (just you wait Clare) and I even walked to heel very nicely. Walking to heel was more to do with Clare yanking at my lead and reprimanding me than my natural urge to behave. I met my friend Bethan and her human too, so all in all a very good walk. The only downside of meeting them was that Bethan’s human gave Clare some instructions on how to make me more obedient. I think she was managing well enough on her own!

On the way home I had a small slip up, where I attempted to chase 2 motorbikes. I was firmly told to ‘leave’ which I dutifully did. By the time I got home I was exhausted! I think Clare was too as it was quite hard work for her.

It’s really been a very good weekend. Laura (one of my extra humans) also came to stay so I’ve been well and truly showered with attention. I’m not quite sure what I’ll do later on today as Laura’s gone home and Clare will be leaving soon too. Then it’ll just be me and my usual humans once again. Although just 4 weeks until Clare comes back – and she’s promised she will return!
