Wheelie good fun...

When I young puppy I must admit I was scared of our wheelie bins. Not when they stood still you understand, but when they moved up and down our drive making an awful noise! Gradually I learned they were nothing to be scared of, and were, in fact, my friends- as the times they want to got “out” on to the street or “in” to their home again means I often get a trip out into the garden too! I enjoy helping my humans with the wheelie bins although Hilary is such a weakling that she has decreed that if there are two full wheelie bins she cannot manage me as well!!
So the last few weeks (while she has been filling up our wheelie bins with all kinds of things we have been storing here in our capacious abode in preparation for our move) I have had to watch forlongly from the window on a Monday night as she stuggles down the long (and very bumpy) drive with the bins.
But, on a Tuesday when they have been emptied and are much lighter, even Hilary can manage two bins and me! So the last few weeks I have helped her take in the bins after our walk. She has tried various techniques to loop my lead round the handles so I take the weight of the bin, not her, but they don’t really work. So instead she drags the bins and I drag her up the drive!
Last week all was going welll till I spotted a rabbit on the lawn and made a lunge towards it. In doing so, and trying to keep hold of me, Hilary lost control of the bins and one of them tipped right over! Then, a few minutes later we managed to knock the other one over too. She was not amused. So today I behaved impeccably as we took the bins in and Hilary thanked me for all my help!
Oh what a good dog am I!
