A long lie

Today I was a very good dog and let Clare sleep in until 8 o’clock before starting to whine to get out. You see, I’ve read Hilary’s comments and Clare’s response, and was starting to worry that she might just shut me in the kitchen and leave me there. She did that yesterday when I was soaking wet so I realise now that she means business.
We’ve been out for our morning jaunt. I chased rabbits and played ball in the field, and Clare admired the lovely red poppies that are sprouting up all over the place. Going out for our longer walk later – Clare wants to save some energy for today’s run.
