On Our Own Again

20 07 2008 - 18:49

We very much enjoyed our visit from Bruce, and I had a lovely birthday. Unfortunately, despite being doped up on antihistamines, Bruce’s eyes were unbearably swollen and sore as he’s allergic to cats and dogs. I think he must love Clare very much to have come down and suffered so much just to see her. I hope she appreciates it!

I had 4 walks yesterday, and as Clare was hoping for a long lie (and had gone to bed early as the only room that poor Bruce could be in without too much discomfort was the bedroom – we’re not allowed in there), I even got to go out into the garden for a middle of the night wee when Clare got up to go to the toilet.

I thought I was hearing things. Clare went downstairs and I stayed on the landing sleeping. Then I heard a voice whispering ‘Max, Max come’. It took a few calls before I went downstairs, and was delighted to be taken into the garden. I can see why Monty enjoys being outside so much at nights. The sky was lovely and clear, and the moon was huge and very bright. So much so that it lit up the lawn completely. Oh. No. It didn’t. Clare’s just advised me that it wasn’t the moon that lit up the garden – it was our security light! Well, it was a lovely night anyway.

Great to see you Bruce – we enjoyed having you here. Thanks for coming out on a walk with me. Hope your recovery doesn’t take too long.
