Playing in the Field

I had a lovely walk this morning. Initially I wasn’t too impressed as Clare didn’t want to go for a long walk at the forest or Gallowflat (she says we can do that this afternoon), and I resigned myself to going to the field.
It turned out to be a very good walk though. There were loads and loads of rabbits, perhaps even 300 of them! I got to chase round the field after them, and the good thing about the grass being cut is that the visibility is much better. I can see the whole field now that there’s no long grass.
We walked round the field to the middle gate, and just as we approached it two dogs appeared, closely followed by their human. One was a labrador and the other was a springer spaniel. They were both on their leads but I wasn’t so I rushed over to see them. Clare asked their human if they’d be okay to play with me and he was quite happy, so we about turned and walked back around the field with them all the way to the bottom gate.
I had great fun! The spaniel was a bit wary of me at first, but soon realised that I was very friendly and we went careering around the field chasing one another. The labrador was a bit more restrained and didn’t really want to join in, and Clare chatted with the other human. Turns out they live across the road and only come over at the weekends as it’s too busy during the week. You never know, maybe I’ll see them again sometime.
