Wow! What a privilege – Max asked me if I would like to write a blog as it’s my last night here.

I don’t really know what to say! I’ve truly enjoyed my holidays here with Max and Monty. I was a little apprehensive, as having agreed during the busy term time, it suddenly struck me on the drive down that I’d probably be bored senseless, but I can honestly say that Max is such fantastic company that I’d never felt bored or lonely.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all our walks, a weekly average of 33 miles (counted by my Garmin running watch), and am sure that those additional miles in the legs will stand my marathon training in good stead.

Although I’m looking forward to getting home to see Bruce again, there’s a bit of me that’s going to be really sad tomorrow when I have to say goodbye to Max. It’s been great having a sustitute dog again, and despite having to remove another 2 ticks today, I can honestly say that I adore him! Max – you’re a star!
