Money laundering....

17 08 2008 - 15:26

No no my humans aren’t engaged in fradulent activities. They are just not very good at checking pockets of clothes which are being washed. It is usually tissues and bits of paper with telephone numbers on, that get put in the laundry basket by Tim (assuming Hilary will check when putting it in the machine) and then into the washing machine by Hilary (assuming Tim has already cleared out his own pockets). The tissues in particular make a lovely mess and shed lots of white fluff stuff all over the whole load, which often takes ages to clean off. Sometimes it is little bags with my treats in that go through the machine, which is a right waste of good food!

Anyway on doing the post holiday laundry this week Hilary washed a pair of Tim’s shorts, tumble dried them, and on removing them from the drier out came a nicely folded and very clean dollar bill. She made a joke about this to Tim and promptly put the note in her jeans pocket to put away later.

Today she was ironing her clothes and guess what? The dollar bill made a reappearance having been washed and dried with her jeans! She took it out and put it carefully in her cardigan pocket and asked me to remind her to take it out again later!

Of course i wasn’t going to remind her as it would have been very amusing if the dollar had made a third appearance in the wash, but sadly Hilary did remember and put the very clean note in her “foreign currency” purse ready for any future holiday!
