A warm welcome!

Last night it was Tim’s Institution Service here in Dunfermline. It was all very exciting. Or so I have been told, as, as I just may have mentioned before, dogs do not get to go to church, so I was forced to stay behind and sulked in the kitchen all evening. But all my humans went – and we have had a whole houseful of humans the last few days! As well as Hilary and Tim, who actually live here, we have had my extra humans (Bryony and Laura) staying and also Tim’s Mum and Hilary’s Dad – so I have had six humans to look after (hard work keeping track of them all!) The house has been very full and busy- even if most of the boxes are now unpacked!
Anyway the service went very well and the church (Holy Trinity, Dunfermline) was packed full of people wishing my male human well in his new role. Tim was duly inducted as Rector and installed in his seat. There were lots of hymns, prayers, a sermon, and the symbolic exchange of gifts. But the best bit was the words of welcome when one of the congregation from Rosyth church welcomed us all- and mentioned me and my blog!! Wow! Fame! I think I might have some new readers out there in Dunfermline and Rosyth, so welcome to my blog, new friends!
Monty also got a mention- and he is only a cat!
What else to tell you? Oh yes, Monty got outside for the first time today! Hilary decided it would be better if he got to go out while they were around so thought today would be good, and he has been itching to get outside since we arrived. So off he went into my garden for a wee explore and look round, and then up the fence- and over and away. My sentimental female human got quite worried and kept calling for him and peering in the bushes- she made every excuse to keep looking in the garden – hanging out washing, feeding birds, and even cutting back some of the rather wild brambles and russian vine that is invading the garden. But no Monty. Eventually it was time for my walk so she and Laura took me for a lovely muddy walk in my new woods (and we got lost but found our way back!) and while we were out Monty returned! He really is quite clever for a cat, knowing his way home. Hilary has got lost numerous times since we moved here. She even got lost going to the church last night – and again coming home when she missed the turn into our road!
As you can see I am settling nicely into my new life here !
